Destroyed all my Asiatic Lilies around my entire yard in Michigan... so sad!
Yes my Criniodendron hoookerianum is in the North facing front garden with added leaf mould. B
Loved your dear kitty appearances!!
Hello, wondering if Alan trims his magnolias back or is that their natural form. They have beautiful shapes. Love your podcasts.
So funny how you Brits pronounce Kniphofia. Niffoffia. The guy they are named after is Kniphof, a German. So we (in The Netherlands) pronounce it as Kn (as in (Evel) Knievel. Then i as in 'in'. Then a single p. Then apart from the p hofia. The o pronounced as in 'low'. It took me months before I understood about which plant people were talking in British podcasts 😂.
I was so happy to hear a mention of the roe "Jubilee Celebration" which I have in my garden. I came very near to tossing it out because it had been pouting for years and eventually appeared to have died. Suddenly it started furiously demonstrating vigor and has been putting out buds that have actually bloomed! It still hasn't acquired the fabulous scent for which it is famous. But I live in hope now... Thanks for the glimmer. Very encouraging!☺
Plants, plants and more plants, oh yes please. Can't get enough of your plant chat. Thanks, thanks and more thanks 😊
Good to hear you praise Baptisia. I love them and there are such interesting colour varieties.
Fabulous ❤
I've destroyed at least 30 larvae today......I lost the battle last summer, I want to win......what about cutting the Lily's at the base.....I was thinking if the beetles have no where to feed, they would die out......I'd hate to do it, Love my flowers, but the second I leave for a week, (camping, work,) I come home and the lilys are destroyed.
Yet more plants to covet 😍. I always learn something, thank you for making the podcast. I love that Thordis is Alan’s personal planty shopper!
I want buy seeds how 0:25
The bunnies eat all our violets. I have given up trying to grow them just to feed rabbits.
Hello, love all the knowledge I am learning from your videos. Could you please tell me if I can slice or chip the tulips bulbs to propagate them?
It's no good I have got to stop watching, my wants list is as long as your arm. One of the best so far, Joe was really enlightening.
Fantastic video. The detail, passion and knowledge imparted are fascinating.
I listen on podcast then head over to your UA-cam channel to see the plants 😅
Talking about the history of plants introduced by people of their day, so many people don’t even know who E A Bowles is today! I believe he to be one of the very best of plants people of any age.
The bio-security risk of all these plants coming and out of the country is hair-curling. --- Joe does interupt too much when someone is in the middle of speaking.
I am loving this. I love the history of plants, thank you,😊
Thank you Alan great video. Now is the time to take cuttings? Now ? if you could elaborate on Now please
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️🌿🌳💚
It's such a treat listening to you both. I always learn something new. Thanks folks 😊
I’m gonna try to grow tulips from seeds
That orchid used to grow near Silverdale golf course about 20 years ago!
Ha ha….I have dicentra White Gold. 2 years now. It tends to scorch a little right now so I may move it to a more shady spot Loving this episode
Thank you!!!
Please don’t make every plant flower for months and months! Boring! I love the different plants that flower in May and then something else in June and so on!
Hmmm, interrupting Joe
they are all friends. --- IWould think that Rhodiola would do fine in Alan's desert as they suit mountainsides and rock gardens.
Another great pod, thank you both. I really enjoy the EROV specials and knowing I’m not the only propagation addict!

I wish you made a daily podcast. I enjoy them so much!! Thanks from the USA.
That euphorbia rígida almost gives the effect of leucadendron
So do I leave it in the ground until it turns parchment color or should I pick it and bring it inside and let it dry?
I concur Alan. Ben Preston is an inspirational gardener, nurseryman and speaker, especially on this podcast. I wish him all the very best 😊
Totally inspiring!! Thankyou
I would pay Ben to make a recording of him saying "Shady Matrix with a milky cocoa".
Really enjoyable….looking forward to part 2
Is Derry American? Her accent?
T, you don't need any lipstick. You are beautiful and entirely fine without.
Ben is being so cruel showing us the anemones. I can hardly bear to watch! They are just so spine tingling plants! Another year, another dime!
They are natives here in Oregon “shooting star”
Was so pleased to hear that the Garden Party was not being axed but when I tuned in I was not a happy bunny as the format has been changed and we have to put up with musical interludes which means fewer calls and chats and VERY annoying. I wish the powers that be would leave very successful formats alone, we know what we like, and don’t like someone interfering just to justify their appointment!!!!🤬
Absolutely agree with Joe! How depressing the weather is in the Uk, it certainly tests us gardeners.
Not Wymondham - this year 11th May 2024 NEW VENUE Connaught Hall, Station Road, Attleborough, NR17 2AS Open to public: 11:00am - 3:30pm
Probably Ranunculus ficaria 'Jacqueline' Good to see you on here again Joe, all the best Brian
This channel ALWAYS makes me smile!
Highly enjoyable. Also tuned into your radio show on Radio Norfolk (even though in Cornwall) which will now be a regular thing!
Sarah Raven talks a lot of nonsense
